Though it has operated under various names, there has been a Bible preaching church on this very piece of property for over 50 years. It has had three names, but we have operated as Heritage Baptist Church since 2006. We actually have one member who has been here since the church operated under its first name, Sembach Bible Baptist Church.

This church’s main audience has always been the US military stationed in and around Kaiserslautern, although we do wish to impact the German national community, as well. Currently, we have active-duty Air Force and Army associated with the church. We also have several veterans who now work as Government employees or contractors.

Serving with the Military Missions Ministry of Baptist International Missions, Incorporated since 2018, John Hallman was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, & raised in a pastor’s home. Serving with the Military Missions Ministry of Baptist International Missions, Incorporated since 2018, John Hallman was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, & raised in a pastor’s home. He came to know the LORD at Sand Mountain Bible Camp in 1978. He did go through a rebellious period from age 17-27. During the rebellious years, John became a Marine. After attending Mississippi State, he was a successful salesman at Columbus Nissan. He surrendered himself to the LORD in November of 1995 at Border Springs Baptist. In December of 1996, while preparing to sing at Southside Baptist of Knoxville, TN, John publicly surrendered to preach and sing whenever and wherever the LORD allowed. He has a Bachelor’s in Missions and a Master’s in Ministry from Crown College, and a doctorate from Trinity Seminary. He’s been in ministry for 29+ years. He and Denise have served the LORD in the U.S. Canada, Iceland, West Africa and now Germany, assisting in the planting of four Baptist churches and revitalization of three.

He and his lovely wife Denise met in Sunday school at Southside Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, right after he surrendered to preach. She, too, was reared in a pastor's home. She was helping with children's church from the time she was very young. They have been happily married since the 23rd of May in 1998. Empty nesters as of August of this year, they have four children: Beau born in 2000, now SGT. James B. Hallman; CJ, born in 2002, now Corporal Clarence J. Hallman; Nathan, born in 2006, now preparing for the gospel ministry at Pensacola Christian college; and Emma-Joy, born in 2007, recent high school graduate and heading to PCC in the fall to study Music.
